My journey starts in Herefordshire with his stunning display of Sunflowers at Oakchurch Farm Shop, Staunton-on-Wye. Travellers of the A438 Kington to Hereford road get a superb view as they pass. You can actually park within a few metres of the Flowerheads.

Rowan Tree Berries , Radnorshire Wales. Autumn 2006.
This update : September 2006
Howey , Llandrindod Wells Powys 2006.

My journey took me through Painscastle ,Powys and over the mountain road towards Llandrindod Wells. This shot of Rhulen Hill .These are old stomping grounds for me and I am only too well aware of how spectacular this are of Mid Wales is this time of year. I shall be back to view this area through the next few weeks when the Autumn colours really take hold. The view here which I have shot many Autumns before is showing indications of a particularly colourful one and yet so early !

The 'Mountain Ash' or 'Rowan' Trees are dripping with large and bright berries this year. These taken from the car window at Cregrina. I should imagine the birds have been spoiled for choice this year as all fruits and berries have produced such great quantities here in the UK.

Continuing towards Llandrindod this view with the cloud shadows dancing across showing great colour. It seems that the parchment of our scorching July here has now been salvaged with the recent rains so producing a lush green to compliment all the colours. I would recommend this journey for the next month or so to experience mid Wales and rural Radnorshire at it's best - in my opinion.

Radnorshire Heather

The heather on this particular stretch of Hills is also particularly striking this time of year against the changing colours of the fern. I used to live within walking distance of this particular spot and just over the Hill there are large areas of Purple Heather a truely spectacular sight which heralds the arrival of the Autumn weather here.
